Join us for a ceilidh – evening dances

Ceilidh dance with us! We have several public ceilidh dance events coming up. We’d love to see you there.

No need to have any idea what ceilidh dancing is, just an enthusiasm to have some fun. Ceilidh dancing is very inclusive, suitable for everyone, even those with two left feet. No experience or partner required.

Caller Kate Smith (of Ceilidh Cornwall) will be your caller and will show you how to do all the dances. Most often dances are with the fabulous The Brim Ceilidh Band, professional folk musicians with lots of experience of playing for dancing.

Starting 21st October – monthly Project 83, Newquay, autumn-spring ceilidh series with The Brim Duo

Back by popular demand follow last winter’s joyful Project 83 ceilidhs we are delighted to have been invited back to Newquay from this October.

The Brim Duo are Alan Pengelly on accordian and Kevin Brinn on bouzouki, with Kate Smith calling.

Project 83 is an award-winning cafe-bar with a wonderfully relaxed vibe and welcoming atmosphere. We absolutely love playing here and look forward to seeing you for our monthly ceilidhs again this upcoming season.

£5 donations suggested to pay the band – what a bargain! Come along early, and have a drink on the super-comfy sofas beforehand, then join us for a happy night of ceilidh.

Saturday 31st January 2026: The Brim ‘Hangover’ Ceilidh – Falmouth Hotel

The annual Brim ceilidh extravaganza has a date secured for 2026 – grab your tickets here.

The Brim Ceilidh Band’s popular annual ‘Hangover Ceilidh’ is bigger and better than ever. It’s a must for everyone wanting to bring some fun and excitement to their new year.

The Falmouth Hotel will once again be host to this year’s event in its main dining room suite at the front of the hotel, overlooking Falmouth Bay. The venue is looking amazing with all the recent upgrades and renovation works.

Tickets Price Options:

1. General Admission £10 (Early Bird Standard Ticket)
2. General Admission £12.50 (To help support and cover operating costs)
3. On the door £15 (The event has previously sold out so prior purchase is advised)

Access to the room will be from 19:00 although the public bar and lounge areas will be open before. (Final evening schedule to be announced later)

A hybrid of Cornwall’s top folk musicians, The Brim Ceilidh Band specialise in providing an upbeat ceilidh / barn dance with an exciting and energetic mix of both new and traditional dances combined with an upbeat and full sound from the band. Kate Smith is their regular caller.
