We want to ensure a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment at all activities associated with Ceilidh Cornwall, wherever they occur – in classes, online, or elsewhere.
We expect everyone participating in our activities to respect staff, volunteers and participants. All actions, on and off the dance floor, should be consensual. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Respecting personal boundaries
- No harassment or abuse – verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual
- Modelling behaviour that makes you feel comfortable and safe, asking others about their needs and preferences, and being open and communicative about your own
We will not tolerate aggressive, discriminatory, disruptive, harassing or offensive behaviour. Participants asked to stop any behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Anyone violating this policy may be asked to leave the event without refund.
Please know that event organisers value your safety more than your politeness, and you should feel empowered to leave any interaction at any time and interrupt us if necessary to report any situation that makes you uncomfortable.
If you find yourself in a situation where you do not feel you are being treated appropriately by someone at the event, or where you witness behaviour you are uncomfortable with, and you feel you need help managing the situation, please seek out a teacher or volunteer and ask for their help.
While we hope there will be no situations where this is needed, we are here to help and would like to create a safe space for everyone to dance and have fun!
We reserve the right to take action if we believe any individual is not acting in an appropriate manner or complying with the above terms – this includes refusing admission to the event or activity, or asking people to leave the premises or activity, without refund, and taking appropriate action to enforce this.
