Experienced caller
I am an experienced caller with a broad repertoire of dances from the celtic nations, England and countries farther afield. I’m happy calling gender-free or more traditionally – just let me know if you have a preference. I like everyone to feel comfortable and welcome.
I have called regularly at weddings, parties, commercial and community events and for groups with age ranges from 3 to 93! I’ll tailor the dances to your group’s requirements in advance and then will be flexible on the day, able to adapt things as required during the night. You won’t even notice that the plan has been reinvented to work better for your group!
Most often I work in Cornwall , sometimes Devon. Please feel free to discuss calling farther afield too though – if available I’d love to be there for you.

Got a band but need a caller
As well as working as a regular caller with several bands in Cornwall (and prior to that, in Iceland) I have also often worked with new bands and with musicians who have just met on the night! If there is time in advance of a gig I like to be in touch with the musicians to check for their favourite tune sets and to agree a draft dance set list for the night, just to make sure we are all comfortable. It is always nice to make sure a band can play their favourite tunes so that they really shine! For more local bands, I’m also happy to meet in advance at a rehearsal or over a coffee and chat through the ceilidh game-plan!
Need a caller and a band
I regularly work with excellent bands and have good contacts with very experienced ceilidh musicians, so if you’d like a band recommendation, or want me to match you with a suitable band for your occasion please just get in touch and we can start the ball rolling.
If you can have some idea of your preferred date, venue and rough budget then that will help with matching you up to the best musicians for your occasion.
Keen to have a ceilidh but not got the budget for a band
As well as calling with bands, I can also call with a single musician or with recorded music using my PA system.
Although live music is absolutely fantastic for a great party atmosphere it isn’t within everyone’s budget. Using recorded music let’s us really go to town with a wide variety of music styles and we can be as traditional or imaginative as you’d like!
